After an almost half a decade hiatus, one of the undisputed kings and original pioneers of Neurofunk has returned with free to download (or pay what you want) LP.

Caligo is the LP title, Sotto Voce is his new imprint, SPOR is his name.

The LP finally arrived after one of the most drawn out build ups to a new project ever witnessed, which quickly became one of the most anticipated D&B LP launches in recent memory. The week before the release, Friction debuted a number tracks from the album and played a fresh guest mix on his flagship D&B show on Radio 1, to much furore from D&B fans across the globe.

The decision to give the album away for free says a lot about where John Gooch is now as an artist, with his House/Electro alias Feed Me hitting hefty heights around the world, signed to the mighty Maus5trap label.

The sound this album portrays is that of a matured producer. Spor was always one of the goto artists for hard-hitting-grooving Neurofunk and I’m happy to say i believe that Caligo more than does the Spor name justice. Namely the tracks ‘Full Colour’ & ‘Coconut’ stand out as tracks that old Spor heads will readily identify with. However elements of John’s work as Feed Me do shine through across the release, alluding to a fresh cutting edge Neuro sound.
